Fragments of Nature

This work presents an accumulation of mother-of-pearl fragments embedded within a vividly layered painted surface. Iridescent pieces are arranged in rhythmic clusters, their natural patterns catching and reflecting light against the saturated red ground. Rather than forming a literal landscape, the composition evokes an organic terrain shaped by repetition, fragmentation, and flow. The fragments suggest growth and movement, while the surrounding painted fields act as connective space, holding the elements together without fixing them into a single narrative. Through the interplay of material and color, the work invites slow observation—allowing light, texture, and subtle variation to emerge over time. As part of the Mother of Pearl Series, it reflects an early exploration of how natural fragments can be gathered, layered, and transformed into a quiet yet vibrant field of presence.
