Convergence
This work presents a dense and layered field of peonies formed through repetition, rhythm, and vibrant color. Fragments of mother-of-pearl are embedded within the painted surface, catching light subtly as they surface and recede across the composition. Rather than focusing on individual blossoms, the work emphasizes accumulation and convergence—how countless fragments gather into a unified visual presence. The peonies unfold as a collective rhythm, where vitality emerges not through movement, but through sustained repetition and density. Painted on wood, the visible grain beneath the layers reinforces a sense of structure and time. The integration of mother-of-pearl introduces shifts in reflection and texture, aligning the work with the Mother-of-Pearl Series, where material, light, and surface quietly record continuity and growth.
